Chinn

Holsteiner sport stallion CHINN

CHINN was Cloverlone\'s first homebred stallion. Sired by Champagne, the only VDL Chin-Chin son in the late 1980\'s; his pedigree combined fancy TB families with a cross back to the last purebred Holsteiner stallion, Fasolt. VDL Chin-Chin was out of a Farnese mare. To combine the power of old blood and refinement the Fasolt mare, Frascati, Chinn\'s dam, was Champagne\'s ideal cross.

CHINN produced many horses in all dicsiplines of sport depending on the mare type, fancy or not. cZappa, out of a grade pinto mare, was a famous jumper in Todd Minikus\' barn, and fondly known as \'the jumping fool\'. He was also Melissa River\'s mount. CHINN\'s half brother, by Champagne out of Flighty Birthday xx, was purchased by Mr. Morton \'Cappy\' Smith of Middleburg, VA and later sold to Joan Irvine Smith, The Oaks, (San Juan Capistrano CA), where he stood stud and later became Joe Montanna\'s hunter. Miss Julia, by CHINN out of a Locksley Spotlight mare, won consistenetly as an event horse. cZildjian, a champion hunter/equitation horse, was out of an appaloosa /TB mare. This is what made CHINN so special as a stallion. He could be bred to almost any mare and get a talented competition horse with a temperament to melt your heart. His get spoiled owners with qualities hard to replace.

B-Cinderella, premium verband imported Holsteiner mare, was chosen on pedigree alone to cross to CHINN. She produced a colt and filly. Cezanne went on to be a junior mount with wins in all disciplines, and Pristine is a broodmare for Cloverlone Broodmare Farm, Boyce, VA. She is reminiscent of her aunt Caroline (v. Champagne) and bred with not only the multiple crosses of Cor de la Bryere to Farnese but also Ramiro and many crosses to Cottage Son xx. Pristine is dam to two R-Saluut II foals.
